South County - Southern St. Mary's County, Maryland
“South County” refers to the most southeastern portion of St. Mary’s County. South County offers maritime charm, a myriad of recreational activities and a rich history to those who live and visit here.
Surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay and St. Mary’s River, South County is the area located just south of NAS Patuxent River Gate 2 at Hermanville Road and includes its two main access roads, Route 235 and Route 5, which ends on the tip of the peninsula in picturesque Point Lookout State Park.
